PH Sepak Takraw Team Makes a Clean Sweep of Vietnam

In a commanding performance, the Philippine National Sepak Takraw team demonstrated their upmost finesse and mastery of the sport, outplaying their Vietnamese contenders with their coordinated movements and play-making that gained them the edge and it resulting in a final score of 2-0, (21-14, 23-21) in a Men’s Regu match during the renowned 30th South East Asia (SEA) Games 2019 that took place at the Subic Gymnasium, Zambales last Saturday, December, 7.
The match began intensely as both teams took turn scoring points, exchanging precise kicks and deploying fine blocks, turning the game into a back-forth battle befitting a world class contest. The play was dreadful, until the Filipino’s suddenly gained the upper hand, changing the pace quickly. They then proceeded to stuck their opponents score, 21-14, earning them the first set.
As the second frame commenced, Vietnam rushed to get the momentum, with each serve and spike filled with power, they greatly turned the tables around. By the midpoint, they had already stretched the score into a huge gap of 19-12.
But not backing down, the Filo’s maintained composure, ensuring each kick and serve must be precise and careful. As it went on, both teams were on a 21-21 deadlock, every player filled with nervousness and excitement. But with enough effort, the Philippines has won the victory, the crowd rising into raptures, celebrating the hard-fought success of the winning side.
With this triumph, the PH team will soon proceed to the awaited semi-finals, with them rising into the ranks for their next matchup with Malaysia.
